Track Mounted Sawing

Case Study 2

Track Mounted Sawing Case Study 2Here is an unusual situation in that we were asked to use our selective deconstruction techniques to reduce these brand new lift shaft cores by approximately 20 metres. The cores were 8.500mm in length x 8.000mm in width with the external walls being 300mm thick and the internal walls being 400mm thick.

Track Mounted Sawing Case Study 2The walls were cut in to sections of 1.500mm with a length of 2.500mm, these cuts were calculated so the crane next to the core could lift out the cut sections and lower them down to the ground for conventional demolition machines to take over.

Track Mounted Sawing Case Study 2Once the vertical cuts were done in the walls 2No core holes were drilled in the top half in preparation for the crane slings, a chase was cut both sides to expose the re-bar content and locations, a hole was then cored along this line and our Hydraulic Burster System deployed to burst up once the crane had the strain.

Track Mounted Sawing Case Study 2The saw cutting – drilling – bursting and lifting technique was done systematically from top to bottom until the whole core shaft external and internal walls were down to the required level.
