Diamond Floor Sawing
Diamond Floor Sawing in Live Pharmaceutical Plant
Our
brief here was to form new bases in which new machinery was to sit and form
new drain runs in which waste could be transferred. The obstacles facing
us here were many; first the factory plant was operational 24 / 7 so noise
and dust where big issues, secondly the areas of working were classified
as sterile and so before any diamond cutting could commence we had to build
a polythene tent completely shrouding the entire working area. Only when
this was done could we begin our electric floor sawing process.
First
we used our small saw to cut accurate shallow lines in order that when the
bigger saw was deployed it would have accurate lines to work to.
Then
once the larger electric saw took over it could cut through the slab, which
had a depth of 340mm with ease.
Although some works were to be done outside we were still instructed to
use our electric floor sawing system to cut the slabs and not the fossil
fuel type.
